Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur and Chinese New Year - 'GONG XI FA CAI' - Great Year of the Rabbit.B-)

Now a touch of luxury for us....our hotel has a gym, pool, rooms have TV, internet, bathrobes, slippers, tea making, fridge, breakfast, free coffee and snacks all day in the club lounge, and a constant supply of hot water and no power cuts!! wow;-)

KL has clean streets, buses, trains, monorail....very organised and everything works! A bit of a culture shock after 3 months in India!

It is also Chinese New Year here, year of the Rabbit...rabbits are all over the city in case we should forget it's new year. Lanterns and red decorations abound.

Our room is on 9th floor with a great view of the famous Petronas Twin Towers, and it looks different every day....due to the changing weather.

KL is sits in a valley, surrounded by hills and is incredibly hot, no cooler than India!

We are also close to Chinatown - Petaling Street with its bustling activity, and Bukit Bintang, Times Square a true shoppers paradise.

We are surrounded by restaurants and cafes - and have had a lot of local street food, stir-fried noodles, duck and lots of other tasty dishes...all at low, low prices.:-p

On 6 Feb we have booked a bus to Singapore (5 hours) where we have 1 overnight stop.

On 7 Feb we fly to Bali for just under 2 weeks...the Spanish course will be back on track again once we have settled in there!

Hasta luego...
